Get A Heavy-Duty Boot Scraper/Door Mat
If you don’t have somewhere to immediately clean off your shoes or boots upon entering your apartment, then you’re bound to track in plenty of water, dirt, leaves, and other outdoor grime that doesn’t belong on your floor (but tends to make it there anyway).
You can find boot trays out there that provide a great way to collect snowmelt and other forms of moisture that would otherwise puddle up on your floor. Really, any watertight-type of tray with raised edges works.
As far as a strict boot scraper goes, we’re thinking of something along the lines of this.
Keep A Swiffer On Hand For Clean Floors
If properly wiping off your footwear and changing down into socks isn’t enough to keep your apartment floors from getting all grimy, simply keep a Swiffer-type system nearby with plenty of spare fluid and disposable wipes. In any case, it’s just good to have a simple instant-floor mop on hand to quickly wipe up spills in general.
Give Your Outwear Some Space To Breathe
After a long, cold morning of running errands, you’re probably keen to shed off your layers once you enter inside your warm Broomfield apartment. That’s all fine and dandy, but if your jacket is wet from snowfall, it’s not a good idea to immediately stash it in a cramped hall closet. A wet jacket will start to smell funky, and over time, won’t wick away moisture as well as it should. These type of garments (and all garments, really) need a chance to dry out.

Of course, we’re in the smack dab middle of these seasons right now, but it’s important to leave this blog post with the knowledge that it’s easier to keep it clean during the winter when you’ve prepared to do so during the other seasons. This is especially the case during the fall.
Divide the cleaning work that you need to do by each room, starting with the common areas (kitchen, living room, bathroom, etc.) and ending with your bedroom(s).
Accept That Things Won’t Be Perfect
You’re more likely to maintain a perfectly clean apartment during the warmer seasons, but unless you’re an absolute perfectionist and proud neat freak, know that things will probably always be dirty during the winter. That’s completely fine; we’re not judging you! So long as you’re a respectful tenant, you’re a winner in our book.
